They came! They’re here!
April 9, 2008I am now the grandma of three beautiful little pups!
Can you see them? Two of them are black and white, and one of them is pure white! They were born between 4:00 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. today, because K left at 4:00 for work (SUCKS, RIGHT?) while Layla was having contractions, and I woke up at 5:00 to the sound of baby #1 crying. I’ll gladly wake up at 5am for a new pup!
The crazy thing is, she didn’t make ANY noise while she was giving birth. She whined like crazy last night, though, when I got in the bed and didn’t put her in the bed with me. She was nesting, and we knew she would deliver either late night or early morning, and there was no way in HELL I was going to let her birth them bebbehs in my BED. Hell to the naw. I felt bad because she was whining (all night), but as soon as it was birthin’ time, she was quiet as a mouse.
It’s so surreal for Layla to be a Mama now. To me, she still seems like a pup herself. I am very proud of her, and she is shaping up to be a wonderful Mama.

Awwwww!!! Sooooo cute!!! We’ve had many litters of kittens in my life (also cute) but never puppies. I am jealous.
